Congress Group acquired the Boston Renaissance Charter School building in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, following a lengthy political process. The 180,000 square foot historic building became available when the school made a decision to relocate its operation to a more affordable location. Congress Group negotiated with the school to remain on site during its permitting process. When the school vacated the building, Congress moved ahead with its redevelopment plans, converting the structure into 128 luxury rental units, a world class amenity facility and a 10,000 square foot restaurant/art gallery on the ground floor. The project was completed in 2014 and has achieved the highest rental rates in Boston.
